Makai Chaat/Corn salad

Alu Raita

 

                                             GRAPES SALAD

Serves :2-3 people.                Approx. calories per serving:129 calories

 

 

Ingredients:

 2 tbsp red bell pepper

2 tbsp yellow bell pepper

1 cup grapes (preferably the black variety)

2-3 baby corns chopped finely

4-5 salad leaves (lettuce).if lettuce is not available, use spinach leaves instead.

¼ cup finely chopped carrots

¼ cup finely chopped spring onions

¼ cup finely chopped purple cabbage.(if u cant get this simple cabbage will do)

1 tsp finely chopped parsley or coriander leaves.

4 tbsp roasted and coarsely pound peanuts.

 

Seasoning:

¼ tsp black pepper powder

¼ tsp red chilly powder

¼ tsp chaat masala

¼ tsp freshly made mustard powder (if available you can buy readymade from shops or supermarkets but fresh tastes better)

 

Dressing: 

4 tbsp yoghurt made from low fat milk.             

 

Method:

  1. Mix all the ingredients together except the salad leaves and the dressing.
  2. Arrange the salad leaves in a salad bowl such that it looks like a flower made of the leaves in the bowl.
  3. Transfer the chopped ingredients mixed with seasonings in the bowl.
  4. Now add ¼ tsp chaat masala to the yoghurt and mix well. Add this toping to the salad. Do not mix. Till ready to eat.
  5. Imp: do not add dressing unless ready to consume.

Grapes salad is very colorful and looks appetizing.

It tastes equally amazing.
